Pastor

Heath Kahlbau has been serving as pastor at First Baptist since July 2017.  Heath grew up in Fairhope, Alabama and is married to Shawna. They have two precious children, Noah and Eleah. Heath's primary focus in ministry is teaching and equipping our members for ministry themselves. Heath loves the outdoors – whether that is hunting, fishing, softball, water sports, etc. Heath grew up in a family owned construction business, so working with his hands is second nature to him. Heath has recently completed a Ph.D in Pastoral Theology and Leadership at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina. This has firmly convinced Heath of the Lord’s sense of humor, since beginning with the first grade, he did everything in his power to avoid everything related to school or academics..

He has served in Student Ministry in Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia. He believes one of the best parts of being a youth pastor is being able to speak into the lives of this generation with the Word of God and seeing those give up their own desires to change the world by taking the gospel to the nations.

He and his wife, Michelle met in college and were married in 2003. They have been blessed with three sons and one daughter.

Stacey
Director of Preschool and Children's Ministry

Stacey Jones is our Director of Preschool and Children's Ministry.  Stacey was born in Normal, Illinois to Rev. and Mrs. Stephen Sweitzer.  Her family moved throughout the South and Mid-West during her childhood and Stacey gave her heart and life to Jesus as a fifth grader.

The summer following her graduation from college, Stacey made her decision to be obedient to God’s call upon her life for full time ministry and began to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS).  In the last few years, Stacey has worked toward her Master’s in Christian Education from NOBTS where she had the privilege to visit Israel and Greece for course credit while studying.

Stacey's desire is to see the children of FBC enter into a relationship with Jesus where they learn to make him their savior, the leader of their life and very best friend.
